 13 OCTOBER - INTERNATIONAL DAY OF DISASTER RISK REDUCTION

The International Day for Disaster Reduction (IDDR) takes place every year on 13 October. This year, there will be a substantial focus on public health and disease outbreaks in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The theme will be “it’s all about governance” which is closely linked with Target E of the Sendai Framework: Substantially increase the number of countries with national and local disaster risk reduction strategies by 2020.
